“The damage caused by hooligans ranges from 25 thousand to 30 thousand Euros,” said Sergei Alekseev, a representative of the exhibition organizers.
According to Alekseev, “the exhibition was in the installation stage and its opening was planned for Tuesday.”
A video filmed by the attackers themselves was published on the Internet. The video shows how a masked man turned over two posters and tore off the red and black flag of Ukrainian nationalists, and then cut it. Russian swearing can be heard in the video.
The Chairman of the Latvian Seimas, Inara Murniece, called on the police to investigate this incident. She wrote about this on her microblog on Twitter.
“The incident of vandalism at the exhibition about the Maidan is not only shameful, but truly frightening. I am waiting for the results of the police work,” said Murniece.
