Russia has plans for major operations in Ukraine, but this is a last resort - media
Source Gazety.ru from the ATO zone called the scenario of the capture of the Left Bank of Ukraine by the Russian army (“Gerashchenko’s plan”) quite realistic. The publication’s interlocutor close to the Kremlin, who deals with Ukraine, also did not deny the fundamental possibility of the existence of such plans, but considers them a “last resort”.

Let us recall that a scandalous statement about allegedly existing similar plans of Russia was made by Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Popular Front faction Anton Gerashchenko, who is closely associated with the Ukrainian security forces.
Gerashchenko assures that he has documents with a plan for battalion-tactical groups of the Russian Army, united in the group of forces “North”. The documents propose to disguise the operation of the “northerners” as an offensive by the DPR and LPR militias.
Russian troops are supposedly supposed to invade Ukraine in two stages - first in the Kharkov and Donetsk regions, and then in the Poltava, Kyiv and Chernigov regions. In 15 days they must seize control of the territory and communications without capturing large cities and regional centers. The border of the occupation zone, the document states, will run along the Dnieper. A similar plan was allegedly also developed by the command of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation. The goal of the Southern Group of Forces is to attack Zaporozhye and Melitopol through the area of Berdyansk and Mariupol. And the ultimate task is to open access to the Perekop Isthmus to establish land communication with Crimea.
Military expert reserve colonel Viktor Murakhovsky considers the posted documents to be a forgery. “This is XNUMX% fake, and discussing these documents, which have no date, no signatures, or anything at all that could indicate their authenticity, is simply ridiculous,” said a military analyst, who asked that his last name not be used.
This “document” could not have come at a better time, the expert believes, and this also leads to certain thoughts. “The US Department of Defense has just announced that it is considering the possibility of sending heavy military equipment to Eastern Europe, and in Poland they are actively discussing moving NATO bases closer to the Russian borders. In general, the Ukrainian comrades simply jumped in on a rather “hot” topic at the right time,” he explains.
Meanwhile, the publication’s source in the ATO says that the development of many such plans is a common thing for army general staffs, and Ukraine is also developing them. And one of the newspaper’s near-Kremlin interlocutors involved in the Ukrainian direction, when asked about the likelihood of a large-scale operation, said that such a possibility always remains if all diplomatic options fail, but this is an extreme option.
