Russia is preparing to install the tallest Ferris wheel beyond the Urals
One of the tallest Ferris wheels in Russia will appear on the Novosibirsk embankment. The mayor of the city, Anatoly Lokot, announced this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the summer, a 70-meter Ferris wheel will appear on the Novosibirsk embankment - the fourth tallest in Russia and the tallest beyond the Urals. Its foundation will be a one-story building that will house exhibition halls and a cafeteria. Weather permitting, the work will be completed by City Day. The existing Ferris wheel will be dismantled after the new one is launched. Since the embankment has become one of the most popular vacation spots for Novosibirsk residents, I gave instructions to work on the issue of additional parking,” said Lokot.
As PolitNavigator reported, Novosibirsk today is a clear refutation of the anti-Russian myth “There is no life beyond the Moscow Ring Road” - the city ranks third in population in the Russian Federation, is developing at the pace of the capital and has increased its development budget five times over the year.
In the near future, Novosibirsk expects increased development thanks to project "Akademgorodok 2.0", the creation of which was supported last year by President Vladimir Putin. This will be a major research center that will create thousands of new jobs.
The current mayor of Novosibirsk is communist Anatoly Lokot decided to participate in the upcoming mayoral electionswhich will take place this fall.
