The second stage of capital amnesty is coming in Russia
The State Duma of the Russian Federation today adopted a package of bills on the implementation of the second stage of capital amnesty in Russia from March 1, 2018 to March 1, 2019. Entrepreneurs who have filed declarations of foreign assets will be released from liability for violations of tax and currency laws, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The pressure on capital abroad has intensified. We saw what happened in Cyprus when the Russian capitalists were told: we forgive you, you will not get anything back. Capital returns to its homeland, and must be sure that it will be safe here. Especially now, when the sanctions pressure is intensifying after Crimea, Ukraine and Syria,” said Rifat Shaikhutdinov, a deputy from the Civic Platform party.
The Communist Party faction opposed the amnesty.
“This is an admission of the state’s powerlessness to return stolen capital. If Dzerzhinsky had been returned, there would not have been such problems. Why didn’t Savva Morozov flee anywhere with his capital before the revolution? Today we allow crime to enter our economy,” said communist Nikolai Kharitonov.
