In Russia, hackers will be fined one million and imprisoned for 10 years
The State Duma today adopted in the first reading a package of government bills on the security of critical information infrastructure (CII) of the Russian Federation. It includes amendments to the Criminal Code (CC).

For the creation of computer programs intended for cyber attacks, it is planned to impose a fine in the amount of 500 thousand to 1 million rubles. or plant for up to 5 years. If the hacker's actions entail serious consequences, they will be punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years.
Critical information infrastructure will include information systems in the defense industry, healthcare, transport, communications, credit and financial sectors, energy, fuel, nuclear, rocket and space, metallurgical, chemical, and mining industries.
