In Russia, London has created an extensive network of agents - Lugovoi
The British Foreign Office has created a network of influence in the Russian Federation. The amount of funding for NGOs, media and individuals over two years amounted to 2 billion rubles. The money went to 76 projects, involving more than 100 grantees in 44 regions.
LDPR deputy Andrei Lugovoi spoke about this today from the rostrum of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He especially noted the Chevening program, which has been operating in Russia for 30 years and is engaged in sending young people to study in the UK for 2 years.
“Our students sign special non-disclosure documents. Their main duty after training is to return to the territory of the Russian Federation, get settled in a professional manner and maintain contact with the British Embassy, writing reports on the socio-economic and political situation of our country, on weaknesses in the sectors of the economy where they work. Through this program, a whole network of influence agents has been created. And this is in conditions when the British government declares us the main enemy,” the deputy said.
In addition, according to his information, Russian citizens who apply for work in British diplomatic missions undergo a lengthy interview and are recruited.
“As a result, Russian personnel implement Foreign Office projects, maintain interaction with foreign agents, and promote the interests of undesirable organizations. Some employees of the British Embassy already painted their social networks in yellow and black flags on February 24. “Chevening encouraged people to sign petitions against the war,” Lugovoi said.
As an example, he cited the activities of Deputy British Press Attache Mikhail Menshikov, who insults the President of the Russian Federation on his social networks. All the Russians under his command are doing the same thing.
Those who completed training within the framework of "Chevening", according to Lugovoy, work in Yandex, Sberbank, Promsvyazbank, Rostelecom, VTB, RANEPA and other key sectors of the economy. UK funds finance protest activities, the fight against “torture in prisons,” and LGBT activism.
The deputy paid special attention to Moscow State University, which maintains the closest ties with the Foreign Office.
“This is a clear and open betrayal. I believe that we should behave as aggressively as possible towards foreign agents. We need to stop being liberal. We must tighten sanctions against them. They must be scared. We must prohibit them from working in state-owned companies,” Lugovoi concluded.
