Russia will limit the legal capabilities of debt collectors to collect debts
The State Duma of Russia adopted in the third reading the bill “On the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of individuals when carrying out activities to repay overdue debts,” limiting the activities of debt collectors.

The bill prohibits debt collectors from using physical force or threatening to use it, causing harm to health and property, exerting psychological pressure and misleading. The collector can call the debtor only twice a week, and only during the daytime, and meet with him personally once a week.
The debtor may refuse to communicate with the creditor and collector through a notary or by sending an application by registered mail with notification.
Collectors cannot contact incompetent citizens, disabled people of the first group, minors, and those undergoing treatment in hospitals. It is prohibited to disclose the debt to third parties without the consent of the debtor himself.
All this applies only to debtors - individuals; the law does not apply to entrepreneurs. They do not apply to citizen creditors; kosyrs independently try to repay the debts of individuals incurred to them, if these debts do not exceed 50 thousand rubles, unless we are talking about the transfer of creditor rights to them.
