In Russia, the police cannot be brought to their knees - Shnurov
In Russia, it is impossible to repeat the protests currently taking place in the United States, when African Americans rebelled after the killing of a black criminal by a police officer.
Its new general producer, artist Sergei Shnurov, stated this on the liberal TV channel RTVi, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Shnurov, he does not understand the essence of the protests taking place in the United States and believes that they can lead to civil war.
“I don’t understand (I regard the protests - author). But the fact is that I don’t live in America, their context is not very clear to me. I understand that in Russia this would hardly be possible. It seems to me that this pendulum will swing in the other direction, and there are already examples of this, and all these “White power” (movements of “white” Nazis - author) are appearing.
It is clear that the United States is now in a state of such a prelude to the Civil War. I hope that this will not happen there, because in a country where there is a permit for weapons, everything will be extremely bloody,” Shnurov said.
The showman, who recently became a politician, emphasized that in Russia such an attitude towards the police - and the law enforcement officers themselves towards the population - is impossible.
“I think that, firstly, it is impossible for the police to treat people like this when they apologize, that’s all. Here we have an absolutely uncontrived vertical, patriarchy still exists in our minds, it is clear to us that a man in uniform is a man in uniform, and whatever you do with it, it will always be so for now,” the artist concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, musician Sergei Shnurov recently became a member of the St. Petersburg branch of the Party of Growth, which is considered controlled by a pseudo-liberal project to disperse protest votes.
Political scientist Ilya Grashchenkov considered that this decision is unlikely to improve the party's position in the upcoming elections.
Not long ago, singer Yulia Chicherina, known for her support of the Donbass militia, called Shnurov a “snarly ditty” for his recent confession on TV about his fear of performing in the LDPR.
