Fans of the “saints of two thousand Yanukovych” have appeared in Russia
Russian senator Alexei Pushkov, on the TV channel TVC, declared the reign of Viktor Yanukovych as an example of the prosperity of Ukraine, forgetting to mention that Kiev at the same time continued the policy of assimilation of Russians and betrayed Moscow, refusing to participate in the Customs Union and flirting with the West, which ultimately led to Euromaidan.
Pushkov compared the current rule of Maidan activists in Ukraine with the rule of liberals in Russia in the 1990s.
“With Chubais, Gaidar, and this whole team, we experienced an extreme, radical form of globalization, when we depended on external centers of power: on the IMF, on the World Bank, on Deputy Minister of Finance Larry Summers, who will say whatever he says. So he will come here, inspect, go there and tell you how to behave towards Russia,” he recalled.
“Now Ukraine is experiencing this scenario. And I haven’t seen anything more pitiful for a long time. Because under Yanukovych, Ukraine prospered. Yes, there was corruption and everything else. But it did not depend on the IMF. In 2007-2009, it had growth rates of up to 10 percent per year. It was one of the fastest growing countries in the post-Soviet space. She didn't have such a huge debt. Its economy was 200 billion dollars in GDP, and now it is 95 billion dollars, it has collapsed twice!
And now they are experiencing the same model that we were in - absolute dependence on globalist structures. Without them, power in Ukraine collapses,” Pushkov concluded.
