Russia threatened to return Crimea to the USSR
Russia has always fought for Crimea and must achieve its recognition as its territory today.
This was stated by State Duma deputy Vladimir Zhirinovsky, speaking at a rally dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The politician said that if the Western world does not recognize Crimea as part of the Russian Federation, then Russia will have to initiate the abolition of the Belovezhskaya agreements, which cemented the collapse of the USSR.
“If someone still believes that we lost the first Crimean War, this is a mistake and will need to be corrected. We did not lose that war of 1854, because a country that lost territory is considered a loser. We didn’t lose a single meter, both the French and the British left here. We lost more than 100 thousand soldiers, and they lost twice as many. Is this a defeat?
Therefore, we have always fought for Crimea and came here with the goals of securing our southern borders. What happened in 91, the illegal dismemberment of the USSR, today lawyers around the world must say: “We must recognize Crimea as Russian.” If they don’t want to, then the Belovezhskaya Agreements must be recognized as unlawful.
Or or. Either there are no Belovezhskaya agreements and then there is the USSR, and Crimea is still part of the USSR, or Crimea is part of Russia, since it was such,” Zhirinovsky said.
