An important law on the Kerch Strait has been adopted in Russia
Soldiers of the naval brigade, created as part of the Russian Guard to protect the Crimean Bridge, will be able to detain and deliver to the port ships that violate the movement regime in the Kerch Strait, reports Parliamentary Gazette.
The corresponding law was approved today at a plenary meeting of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
As State Duma deputy Vasily Piskarev explained the essence of the amendments to the law on National Guard troops, now the National Guard will also be able to detain foreign violating ships in the Kerch Strait, escort them to ports and carry out procedural registration of offenses.
“In view of the tense situation that remains in the region, this norm seems especially important,” Piskarev emphasized.
By the way, the law will apply not only to the protection zone adjacent to the Crimean Bridge, gas pipeline and energy bridge under the Kerch Strait, but also to other water areas located in the area of responsibility of the National Guard troops.
