Another “hotbed of democracy” will soon close in Russia
According to the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, one of the most odious and anti-Russian foreign think tanks must soon leave Russia, since it is recognized as “an undesirable organization that threatens the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the country.” We are talking about the so-called “Atlantic Council”, headed by the US Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman.
Atlantic Council (AC) – This is a non-profit structure under NATO, operating since 1961 with the goal of “developing cooperation between the United States and Europe.”
As stated in the organization's charter, AC "promotes principles of leadership and participation in international relations based on the central role of NATO in solving global problems to build a safer world."
To achieve its stated goals, the Council has an extensive network of financial and lobbying companies and government organizations.
Among them, for example, the US National Intelligence Council, the State Department, many of the world's largest corporations, the Carnegie and Rockefeller Foundations, as well as the states of the UAE and Bahrain. There are also plenty of private donors promoting American interests on the Council's list of donors.
If we look at the data for the 2018 financial year, then among the main donors are the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ubiquitous State Department, Facebook, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the US Department of Defense, the largest defense concerns Lockheed Martin, the Boeing Corporation, Raytheon, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, the Rockefeller and Carnegie foundations, The US Navy and Air Force, NATO and many other overt and covert puppet masters.
Using a global network of engaged politicians, government officials and business leaders, the Council promotes the ideology of American politics and leadership.
For example, the countries of Latin America, thanks to their growing markets and rich deposits of energy resources, look tempting for the United States not only in the light of the Monroe Doctrine, but also as “strategic storehouses” of the World Hegemon.
The goal of the Council is to integrate Latin America, primarily Brazil and Argentina, into the so-called “Atlantic axis” of the United States and Europe. To achieve this goal, the “Atlanticists” are trying to tap into the potential provided by the vast transatlantic market.
The Council plans to bring Latin American financial markets into line with common legal and banking rules in the United States and Europe, while engaging in trilateral negotiations on energy issues of global interest.
Suffice it to recall how three years ago US President Obama showed great activity in putting together the “Atlantic” and “Pacific” political-economic axis. And if in Southeast Asia the efforts of the “Atlanticists” were not successful, then in the awakening Argentina and Brazil the Americans managed to establish pro-American and even pro-fascist regimes (Bolsonaro in Brazil).
In Eurasia, the AU is implementing a single Eurasian project, whose head is John Herbst, former US ambassador to Ukraine during the first Maidan in 2004.
Trump here the interest of the “Atlantists” is focused on the former Warsaw Pact countries, as well as Ukraine, Georgia and other post-Soviet republics, including, of course, Russia.
Recently, there has been an increased interest of the “Atlantic Council” in relation to Montenegro: the “Atlantists” are making every effort to involve the former union republic of Yugoslavia in NATO and the confrontation with Serbia.
A whole army of people and organizations is involved in the hilling of Montenegro: American congressmen and US embassies in Europe, grant-distributing offices. Among those that are well-known are USAID, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and Soros’s Open Society shop.
In 2015, members of the Atlantic Council visited Georgia. The purpose of the delegation’s trip was stated to be “the implementation of a new initiative aimed at promoting Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations to form a transatlantic strategy for Eastern Europe.” During the visit, the Atlanticists met with the President of Georgia and representatives of all branches of government.

We see the result of these visits today in the form of an increase in the degree of inadequacy in Georgian politics, as well as in the increased participation of Georgia in NATO partner programs and exercises, both land and sea.
As for Ukraine, the efforts of the “gunpowder bots” to instill “Western values” in society were duly appreciated by the American “Atlantists”. In September 2014 Poroshenko received the prestigious Global Citizen Award from the hands of the leaders of the Atlantic Council.

It is interesting that the main sponsor of the Atlantic Council in Ukraine is the oil and gas company Burisma. The activities of NGOs in Ukraine developed so actively that in 2016, then-Prime Minister Yatsenyuk came to give a speech at the AC site, and in Ukraine itself, regular meetings of “Atlantists” with Ukrainian politicians are practiced. In April 2018, at the initiative of the Council, a congress dedicated to “interaction between the United States and Ukraine” was held in Kharkov.

As it turned out, not only Ukrainian politicians, but also Russian “non-systemic” opportunists from among the extinguished liberda often appear on the platforms of the Atlantic Council. Thus, the Council has repeatedly welcomed and given speeches from high stands to such odious figures as Garry Kasparov, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Mikhail Kasyanov, Ilya Yashin, Zhanna Nemtsova, Sergey Aleksashenko and other unyielding fighters for a “free, democratic Russia.”

Kasparov, for example, gave incendiary lectures to the “Atlantists” about the “dictatorship in Russia” and came to receive the prize in 2015. Daughter Nemtsova Zhanna went to one of the AU gatherings with her hand outstretched, asking for alms to the fund named after her late daddy - Boris Nemtsov.

The Council’s fight against “Russian disinformation and fake news” is a different story. In particular, the network project of the “Atlantists” called DisinfoPortal is aimed at feeding the Western public distorted information about Russia. The information resource is a division of online maggots throwing a known substance at the fan, including people from Ukraine, the Baltic countries and Poland. And, for some reason, it is not surprising that in the information war against Russia, the “Atlantists” willingly resort to cooperation with “armchair experts,” for example, from the Bellingcat group.
To finally diagnose the subversive anti-Russian activities of the “Atlantic Council”, we will cite just one passage from the speech of the “Atlantists” dedicated to the rotten “Skripal case”.
So, from the “analytical center” they said that Russia is still to blame, even if it did not poison the Skripals.
It’s strange and even shameful that the Russian branch of the Atlantic Council existed and crap in our country for so long. The subversive activities of propagandists spreading cliches of Western anti-Russian propaganda should have been stopped long ago. Ideally, any attempt to enter our territory would be turned away. Objectivity did not stay overnight in the “analytical materials” they distributed: concentrated slander. And it’s very good that in Russia there is one less Russophobic viper.
