Following the Russian Ministry of Defense, which twice yesterday issued a statement on the situation around Transnistria, today the Russian Foreign Ministry spoke on this topic.

“We warn the United States, NATO member countries and their Ukrainian wards against the next adventurous steps. At the same time, no one should have any doubt that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will adequately respond to the provocation of the Kyiv regime, if one does follow, and will ensure the protection of our compatriots, the Russian peacekeeping contingent, military personnel of the Operational Group of Russian troops and military warehouses in the settlement. Sausage in Transnistria. Any actions that pose a threat to their security will be considered, in accordance with international law, as an attack on the Russian Federation,” the statement said.

Following the Russian Ministry of Defense, which issued a statement twice yesterday on the situation around Transnistria, today...

The US Ambassador to Chisinau, Kent Logsdon, pretended not to notice the concentration of Ukrainian troops and equipment on the border with Transnistria.

“As we said earlier, we have no information about any armed attacks. Of course, we continue to closely monitor the situation. We continue to exchange information with Moldovan law enforcement colleagues and the government to ensure that we have the most reliable information,” Logsdon said.

The Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission also informed that the traffic flow across the border has not increased and the situation is calm.

Russian political scientist Andrey Suzdaltsev does not know how Russia can save the PMR from invasion.

“It is indicated that the RF Armed Forces will protect Russian citizens located on the territory of Transnistria. True, it’s not very clear how to do this? The nearest Russian units are located 600 km from Transnistria, on the left bank of the Dnieper,” he reminds.

In Ukraine, statements from Moscow appear to have made no impression.

For example, even Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga, who plays “adequate”, speaks disparagingly about the capabilities of the Russian army.

“Apparently, the USA is right – the bear is toothless and looks a little like LGBT people. News: The Kursk region came under heavy shelling. Is this not an “attack on the Russian Federation”? And Transnistria means an attack. They can’t take Bakhmut. And it was not Ukraine, but the Russian Federation that made “gestures of goodwill” with negative offensives. And “Moscow” sank…” Chaplyga sarcastically comments on her TG channel.

The seriousness of the situation is also recognized in Russia. Former speaker of the Novorossiya parliament Oleg Tsarev proposes creating a people's militia in Transnistria.

“Our armed forces are an order of magnitude smaller than what the Ukrainian Armed Forces assembled under the PMR. I have been to the PMR many times, come to elections as an observer, and communicate with the population. In my opinion, I was the only people’s deputy from Ukraine who came to Transnistria. The people there are pro-Russian and very militant. I understand that everything that can be done has already been done, but I would also suggest distributing weapons to the population. Form local defense units. At least try to equalize the number of military units in this way. I understand that the leadership is afraid of the armed population, but this is a case when it makes sense for the leadership to step over themselves,” Tsarev wrote in his TG channel.

Political scientist Sergei Markov proposes an even more radical solution - to blow up military warehouses in Kolbasna, the largest arsenal in Europe.

“The army of Transnistria is only 13 thousand people. The Ukrainian Armed Forces group, ready for aggression, already numbers more than 30 thousand. Plus the troops of Moldova and Romania. Russia will not be able to protect Transnistria. What to do? It is necessary to blow up the warehouses in Kolbasna in case of aggression. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are hungry for shells. Without these warehouses, the value of Transnistria immediately decreases sharply,” Markov wrote.

Russian military correspondent Dmitry Steshin believes that Transnistria can only be saved by using nuclear weapons.

“It’s time to use a tactical nuclear charge, or whatever we have of similar power, to crap along the entire Kyiv-Chisinau-Bucharest axis. To protect our peacekeepers and military base/arsenal. There is no one to feel sorry for, these creatures conspired a long time ago, the Romanians and Bandera’s supporters are brothers forever.

There is no hope for clear civil-military resistance in Transnistria. Not Donbass. People were kept in hopelessness for 30 years until they realized that they only had to rely on themselves and their three passports.

As practice shows, if you have three passports, in case of a crisis you will choose an air ticket. Especially if generations have changed and no one remembers that bloody war that took place, it seems, 100 years ago.

Although, Transnistria can field a certain number of combatants, even contrary to the interests of the elites. They also whined about Donbass in 14: “who will go to war, everyone has loans from Privatbank, etc.”

They also worked with Transnistria in parallel with us, and you don’t have to guess whose work was more successful - look at Ukraine. Everything there is surrounded by Western NGOs in a circle, I saw it during the “Moldavian revolution”. People from strange funds, even in a conversation with a journalist, did not hide what they were doing - unrest, and Transnistria was a convenient extraterritorial base for them. And in the center of Europe, moreover, not the Ivory Coast.

The good news is that Ukraine is getting a war on two fronts. It’s little consolation, but still,” Steshin comments.
