More housing is being built in Russia than in the entire USSR
In the next ten years, it is planned to build a billion square meters of housing in Russia. No later than 2030, it is necessary to improve the living conditions of at least five million families annually, to introduce up to 120 million square meters per year
Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin stated this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Over the next ten years, we must build one billion square meters of housing, every fifth meter of housing in the country must become new. We’re not just talking about it, we’re moving towards it step by step,” Khusnullin said.
In 2021, 92,6 million square meters of housing were commissioned.
“This is the largest volume of input in history, including the Soviet Union. We didn't just build this housing. According to preliminary estimates, we managed to improve the living conditions of 4,2 million families, that’s 10 million people,” Khusnullin said.
