Criminal cases have been opened in Russia against the leaders of the Right Sector
The Investigative Committee of Russia announced the initiation of a criminal case against the leaders and activists of the Ukrainian extremist organization “Right Sector” (the organization’s activities are prohibited by a decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Russian Federation).

Based on the collected evidence, a criminal case was initiated against the leaders of the “Right Sector” Dmitry Yarosh and Andrei Tarasenko, the leaders of this organization Andrei Stempitsky, Valery Voronov, Artem Skoropadsky and other persons on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, that is, the activities of an extremist organization.
“It has been established that the Right Sector, formed by Dmitry Yarosh in 2013, took as a basis the views of radical Ukrainian nationalism, emphasized Russophobia and fascism, while the goal of the organization was “to provide armed resistance to Moscow aggression”, and in fact, to justify the use of violence based on political , racial, national and religious motives.
The “Right Sector” included leaders and activists of a number of other Ukrainian right-wing radical organizations and movements (“Trident named after Stepan Bandera”, “Ukrainian National Assembly - Ukrainian People’s Self-Defense” (UNA-UNSO), “Brotherhood”, “Social-National Assembly "(SNA), "White Hammer", "Grouping S14", "Carpathian Sich", "Ukrainian Insurgent Army" (UPA), associations of football fans "Ultras").
From no later than 2014 to the present, the leaders and activists of the Right Sector organization have been systematically planning and committing crimes against the Russian Federation, its citizens and diplomatic institutions on the territory of Ukraine, as well as against the Russian-speaking civilian population, on an ongoing basis.
Also, Russian citizen Artem Skoropadsky, the head of the press service of the Right Sector, takes an active part in the activities of the organization, who systematically speaks in the media and on the Internet, as well as at various public events, promoting the criminal ideology of the Right Sector organization. , calls for like-minded people to join it and participate in the commission of extremist crimes.
To date, the total number of participants in the Right Sector organization has been established to be more than 5000 militants; the organization consists of citizens of Ukraine, the Russian Federation and other states. In each region of Ukraine, the organization has structural divisions - headquarters, coordinating the activities of activists on the ground. In addition, the organization’s leaders have created separate cells in Europe and North America.
While on the territory of Ukraine, Yarosh, Tarasenko, Stempitsky, Voronov, Skoropadsky and other heads of structural divisions of the Right Sector organization continue to carry out their criminal actions to this day with the tacit approval and encouragement of the leadership of Ukraine,” the Investigative Committee said in a statement.
