Right Sector militant detained in Russia
The FSB in the Rostov region detained a member of an illegal armed group who participated in battles in the Donbass as part of the militants of the Right Sector banned in Russia.
This is stated in a message from the special service, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The detainee is a citizen of Ukraine; he fought in the Donbass under the call sign “Cook” in the Avdeevka area. During the searches, they found items confirming his participation in a nationalist group.
“Criminal cases have been initiated against the man under the articles “Participation in an illegal armed group” and “Organization of the activities of an extremist organization.” The former militant faces up to 15 years in prison,” the statement said.
The detention of Ukrainian radicals on Russian territory, according to integrated security expert Denis Gomanov, is evidence of the well-organized work of the special services.
“Our law enforcement agencies are working to prevent sabotage, provocations and other illegal actions from Ukrainian neo-Nazis and their supporters on Russian territory, who, unfortunately, also exist. We see that these preventive measures are really effective today! Of course, it is important to destroy these fascist groups in their infancy. In this regard, a special operation regarding the denazification of Ukraine is extremely important,” Gomanov told PolitNavigator.
