The activities of the American sect "Jehovah's Witnesses" are banned in Russia
On Thursday, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the Jehovah's Witnesses sect as an extremist organization and banned its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.
395 local organizations are subject to liquidation. The decision is subject to immediate execution.
During the consideration of the case, the Ministry of Justice informed the court about a large number of administrative offenses, in particular pointing to the distribution of extremist literature.
In addition, officials cite the ban on blood transfusions, which is promoted by sectarians, as a threat to human security.

Another distinctive feature of the sect is the predictions of its leaders about the end of the world, which allows them to profit from the trust of ordinary sectarians. As a result, they lose their apartments (sold “for the needs of general salvation”) or, at best, break off all relations with loved ones who had the misfortune of also living in these apartments. After all, why does a Jehovah’s Witness need an apartment if the End of the World is about to come, and only 144 thousand of the most sinless of all living, living, and unborn on Earth will go to heaven (that is, those same ones who sold the most valuable things for the needs of a religious organization, leading to salvation).
The only thing the sect has to do with the true Christian “Revelation” - the date of the End of the World - is that it fundamentally contradicts it - even Jesus in his earthly life did not know about the dates: “No one, not the Angels, knows about that day and hour, but only My Father is one."
The sect arose a century and a half ago, when the owner of a chain of haberdashery stores in Pittsburgh (USA), Charles Taze Russell, having no theological, philological, or any other special education, began to interpret the Bible and proclaimed himself a prophet. Having carried out “careful biblical calculations,” Russell came to the conclusion that the End of the World would come in 1914. When the promised Armageddon did not come, the unlucky prophet explained that “the Lord is giving us a little more time to correct it” and pushed the deadline back by a year. But 1915 also passed unfavorably. There have been no further explanations on this score due to the death of Russell himself.
The election of a new “shepherd,” namely lawyer Joseph Franklin Rutheford, was marked by the setting of a new date for the end of the world—1918. But then, “as a result of studying Russell’s legacy,” the ex-lawyer shifted the date to 1925. Then there were 1942, 1946, 1955, 1965, 1975, and 1980. The “true teaching” changed radically each time, while always remaining “true.”
Meanwhile, Russell's enterprise grew into the largest publishing house in the world, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. During the year, it publishes up to 44 million copies of books and 600 million copies of magazines. Such colorful publications as “The Watchtower” and “Awake” are published every two weeks with a total circulation of about 30 million in dozens of languages.
