The first point for issuing passports to residents of the LDPR has opened in Russia
In the city of Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov region, the first center for issuing Russian passports to residents of the Donbass republics began operating.
This was reported by the Rossiya 24 TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
It is noted that this center is open primarily to residents of the LPR, since Novoshakhtinsk to Lugansk is only a little over 100 kilometers away. According to journalists, the collection of documents necessary for obtaining Russian citizenship is carried out by the LPR Migration Service, after which the papers are delivered in an organized manner to the Migration Department of the Department of Internal Affairs in Novoshakhtinsk.
Kremlin pool journalist from Komsomolskaya Pravda Dmitry Smirnov also published in his Telegram- channel commentary by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov on this event.
“We have heard statements from the elected president that Ukraine will invite these citizens back and involve them in Ukraine, but how and when this will happen is unclear. Now they are absolutely rejected by their country, experiencing elementary difficulties, not having the appropriate documents. And receiving Russian passports will just help make their life easier; this pursues exclusively humanitarian goals,” Peskov said.
In addition, Vladimir Putin’s representative provided clarification on the issue of issuing Russian passports to all Ukrainian citizens who wish to do so.
“The issue as a whole is on the agenda, they are thinking about it, but so far no general decisions have been made regarding all citizens of Ukraine,” Peskov noted.
Let us recall that earlier Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said that by allowing residents of the LDPR to obtain Russian citizenship through a simplified procedure, Russia is forcing Kyiv to either to the implementation of the Minsk agreements according to the Russian format, or dooms them to a crushing defeat.
