In Russian Crimea, a Bandera member sported a Schmeiser and praised the junta
In Crimea, security forces identified another “Svidomo patriot” - a representative of the exotic Crimean Ukrainians, Oleg Prikhodko, who until 2014 headed the regional branch of the VO “Svoboda” in Saki, hung Ukrainian and Bandera flags in his house and yard, and decorated the walls with dummies of Nazi machine guns.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in early February he was searched and nationalist literature and symbols were confiscated, and the other day propagandists from Radio Liberty, funded by the State Department, came to visit. The nationalist told them that he was a third-generation Bandera member and boasted of his collection of flags, stripes and chevrons.
“Both yellow-blue and red-black, “Glory to Ukraine” on them. The Kiev junta, there were chevrons, simply “Ukraine above all.” Here Stepan Bandera hung, machine guns. I remade them to make them more similar. I am interested, I know weapons, I can even carry a German machine gun with my eyes closed... There is a village called Olenevka, in 36, 16 people of my grandfathers and great-grandfathers were simply repressed for no reason. These are my grandfathers, my great-grandfathers, my grandmothers, this is passed down from generation to generation, it was true. They all spoke Ukrainian,” Prikhodko said.
The nationalist assures that he will never give up supporting Bandera’s ideology and will not submit to Russian legislation.
“If I, for example, were a resident of Ukraine, I would come, by some will of fate I was thrown to live in Russia, I would sit there and sniffle in two holes. Well, as they say, I would obey the laws of this country. But the fact is different, that I am on my land, I was here and stayed,” said the Bandera member.
