The news in Russian shipbuilding is not the most rosy - expert
Despite the declared economic growth and import substitution policy, Russia continues to ignore many shipbuilding sectors, as a result of which entire sectors of the economy remain underdeveloped.
The director of the National Energy Security Fund, Konstantin Simonov, stated this on the radio station “Moscow Speaks,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It was said ten years ago that the oil industry would be in demand. And you can earn money if you start actively servicing it and start producing goods for it in your country. Maybe something will happen now.
Although we see that the news in shipbuilding is not the most rosy. Last week there were reports that even our flagship project, the nuclear icebreaker Leader, was slightly delayed due to the impossibility of rebuilding all the technological processes here on time,” Simonov said.
He noted that some large industries, for example tanker shipbuilding, which is important for the oil industry, are not being revived at all in Russia.
“Unfortunately, I have not heard any statements about the revival of Russian tanker shipbuilding at all. Maybe we want to keep this a secret, and then we'll shoot. Maybe so,” he says ironically.
