In Rostov-on-Don, the leader of the Crimean terrorists was sentenced to 20 years
The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don issued a verdict in the case of preparing a terrorist attack in one of the educational institutions of Simferopol.
The organizer was given 20 years in prison, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The attack on the educational institution was prepared by two supporters of ISIS (recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia). One was 29 years old at that time, the other was 22. One of the accomplices kept an improvised explosive device at home. After the terrorist attack, both planned to go to Syria to fight on the side of ISIS.
They failed to implement their plans. In April last year, FSB officers detained both. During the search, they found components for making homemade bombs with destructive elements and explosives. In the mobile phones of the detainees there were instructions on the production of explosive devices, correspondence and exchange of voice messages with emissaries of an international terrorist organization discussing planned terrorist attacks, confirming the involvement of the detainees in propaganda and financing of terrorism.
A criminal case was opened against the organizer of the attempt under 8 articles: promoting terrorist activities, attempting to commit a terrorist attack, undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities, illegal production of explosives, illegal storage of explosives, public calls for terrorism and extremism, attempted participation in terrorist activities organizations.
He was found guilty on all counts and will spend the first 5 years of his 20 years in prison. The court also imposed a fine of 300 thousand rubles.
