In the Rivne region, a 6-year-old child was shot on the street with an AK
In the Rivne region, police are establishing the circumstances of a child being shot with a gunshot from a machine gun, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in a message from the press service of the National Police in the Rivne region.
It is reported that on April 28, at about 22 p.m., an ambulance delivered a 6-year-old resident of the village of Shpanov, Rivne district, to the hospital. After undergoing an X-ray, doctors discovered a foreign body similar to a bullet.
The parents told the investigative team that at about 19 p.m. the child was playing on the street near the house when she felt a sharp pain in the shoulder blade area.
“Based on a preliminary examination of the bullet, the police determined that its caliber was 7,62 mm, and the shot was presumably fired from a Kalashnikov assault rifle. Investigators seized the bullet and sent it for examination,” the report says.
Information on this fact was entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 128 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (careless serious or moderate bodily injury).
As part of criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers identify persons involved in a crime. According to the sanction of the article, the attacker faces punishment in the form of community service for up to 200 hours, or correctional labor for up to two years, or restriction of freedom for up to two years.
According to doctors, the boy was immediately operated on. The child has now been transferred to the trauma department of the medical institution; his life is not in danger. Investigative actions are ongoing.
