The vandals covered the center of the complex with anti-Polish inscriptions and mentioned the Volyn tragedy, and depicted the symbols of the Svoboda party on the crosses installed on the graves of Polish soldiers.

There were no comments from representatives of the local party branch regarding this act of vandalism.

It is known that the remains of 26 Polish soldiers were buried in the local cemetery, and the bodies of the rest were found by local search engines in forests and fields already during the independence of Ukraine. Representatives of the Ukrainian and Polish public from Volhynia and the Lublin Voivodeship regularly hold events at this site of victims of the Second World War, demonstrating a common desire for peace. The last event was held from the Polish side by the Independence Foundation, and from Volyn by the public organization Forum of Ukrainian Journalists with the assistance of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk.
