This was reported by the Ukrainian publication “2000”.
The publication reports that Steklyar is trying to prohibit Ukrainian propagandists of Banderaism from obtaining their personal file from the archives of the Security Service of Ukraine. A request for access to his file to the SBU archive was sent six months ago by the so-called Institute of National Remembrance, headed by the notorious Vladimir Vyatrovich, but Boris Steklyar is trying to protest it, appealing to the law on the protection of personal data.
“The Steklyar case is unprecedented in Ukraine. Few of those who fought with Ukrainian nationalists in the 1940s and 1950s have survived to this day. In addition, Boris Steklyar is one of many KGB employees whose personal files were never reviewed after the collapse of the USSR. Historians say that he took part in a special operation of the NKVD, during which the propagandist of the Bandera OUN, Nil Khasevich, died (a member of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and the Ukrainian Main Liberation Rada, Nil Khasevich became famous thanks to his works related to the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. The author of many posters, woodcuts, postcards, magazine illustrations and cartoons, today he is considered the creator of the visual image of the UPA In addition, it was Khasevich who developed a number of design options for “bophons” - cash receipts (obligations) of the UPA, as well as the design of awards of Ukrainian collaborators, including the “Cross” "Combat Merit" and "Cross of Merit". Was cleared on March 4, 1952 in the Rivne region),” the publication says.
“At first he was an employee of one of the regional departments, then he worked in the central department of the KGB in the Rivne region. In the 1940-1950s. was one of the leading specialists in the fight against Ukrainian rebels in the Rivne region. He participated in special operations against Taras Bulba-Borovets and Nil Khasevich,” says nationalist activist from Rivne Igor Marchuk about Boris Steklyar.
Obviously, Steklyar's personal file contains information about his activities, track record and awards. In particular, in interviews with local media, he repeatedly spoke about 8 military orders.
