There are major personnel purges in the leadership of the National Police
The head of the National Police, Sergei Knyazev, fired three of his deputies, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The positions were left by the first deputy head of the National Police - head of the criminal police Vyacheslav Abroskin and two deputy heads of the state of emergency: Vitaly Nevgad - head of the Main Investigation Department and Igor Kupranets - head of the Department of Economic Protection.
Their declarations of property status before dismissal appeared on September 9 in the Unified State Register of Declarations of Authorized Persons.
Police General of the second rank Vyacheslav Abroskin, in a comment to hromadske, confirmed his dismissal and clarified that from September 12 he will no longer serve in the police. The official did not specify the reason for this decision.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on September 11 that Vitaly Nevgad was replaced at his post by police lieutenant colonel Maxim Tsutskiridze, who had previously been deputy head of the Main Investigation Department of the national police.
According to sources of the publication Censor.net, the head of the National Police Sergei Knyazev will remain in office.
Earlier on August 23, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov fired police chiefs in four regions for low police performance in the regions. The head of the Dnepropetrovsk region police, Vitaly Glukhoverya, was fired earlier; the State Bureau of Investigation is investigating a case against him for exceeding official powers. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
On September 6, the Cabinet of Ministers fired Avakov’s deputy, the odious Vadim Troyan.
