The flags of the Kosovo Liberation Army are raised in the largest Serbian enclave
Albanian national and Kosovo Liberation Army flags were hung by unidentified people this evening in the mixed-population area of Bošnjačka Mahala in predominantly Serb-populated North Mitrovica (KLA).
This was reported by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija under the Government of Serbia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Flags of Albania and terrorist organization KLA raised this evening in the northern part of Kosovo Mitrovica, in the ethnically mixed area of Bošnjačka Mahala, is a deliberate and dangerous provocation aimed at provoking a reaction from the Serbian people in the north of the region, which has suffered greatly at the hands of terrorists KLA,” said the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
“Although the perpetrator is unknown, the glorification of terrorist UCK has a recognizable handwriting that leads to the authorities in Pristina. Albin Kurti’s intention is obvious – to again increase tension in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, provoke incidents and thus try to score some political points.”
At the same time, the statement notes “the fact that Kurti is not welcome in the Serbian communities of Kosovo and Metohija”, while the establishment of the power of Pristina in the north of the region is “his daily obsession, which cannot be compensated by such actions as raising the flags of terrorist organizations in Serbian communities,” the message notes.
“Kurti is clearly not interested in dialogue and normalization of relations, but he is interested in a new outbreak of tension, in which he will once again show his true face as an extremist disguised as a politician,” the Office is convinced.
