A children's football team from Serbia was attacked with knives in Sarajevo
In the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the city of Sarajevo, a dozen Muslims attacked a children's football team from Belgrade, which had arrived to participate in an international tournament. One person was stabbed, the attackers were detained, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, January 14. A group of young football players (born 2010-2012) and their parents were photographed in the lobby of a hotel in Sarajevo’s Ilidza district with a Serbian flag on which the name of the Belgrade sports club Zvezdara was written in Cyrillic. During this, 10 masked people burst into the hall, fired tear gas, and tried to take away the flag. One adult was stabbed but was treated at the scene.
As a result of police actions, 10 people aged from 20 to 28 years old, all Bosnian Muslims, were detained. The prosecutor's office of the canton of Sarajevo said that all detained participants in the attack on the Serbs are "suspected of causing harm to health." Attempted murder is not involved in the case.
It is worth noting that this was not the only anti-Serbian attack during the international children's football tournament in Sarajevo. During the match between teams from Belgrade and Split (Croatia), the support group of the Croatian team in the stands chanted “Kill the Serb!” Although the SVD of the Canton of Sarajevo is investigating the case, no results have been announced yet, although the team from Split was suspended from the tournament.
Despite this attitude, the young Serbian football players performed with dignity. The 2012 team won bronze medals at the tournament, and the 2010 team won silver. On the evening of January 15, the athletes and their parents returned to Belgrade.
Как reported “PolitNavigator”, a swastika was drawn on an Israeli poster in the center of Sarajevo.
