In Saratov they thought of handing out “edible orders” to children on May 9
In Saratov on May 9, at the “Immortal Regiment” event, “edible orders” from the Great Patriotic War will be distributed, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This dubious initiative was reported today on the air of the local State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Saratov, writes local portal “Public Opinion”.
The head of the headquarters of the regional branch of the Immortal Regiment movement in Russia, Vladimir Zelenov, said that this year the procession will be divided into two columns, one of which will carry portraits of Heroes of the USSR from Volsk, and the second - portraits of female pilots who fought under the command of Marina Raskova. And for children “they will prepare chocolate sets in wrappers in the form of the eight main orders of the Great Patriotic War: the Red Star, Alexander Nevsky, the Red Banner of Battle, Bogdan Khmelnitsky, Victory, Nakhimov, Suvorov and the Patriotic War.
The initiative to give the little participants of the action a box of chocolate orders was made at a meeting of the regional Public Chamber by the chairman of the Saratov regional branch of the “Combat Brotherhood” Sergei Avezniyazov, reports IA Saratovnews. He presented a sample of chocolates that can be given to children.
The chairman of the chamber, Alexander Lando, liked the initiative, but he noted that gifts should be given out along with a “memo for each order.” “Otherwise they’ll eat the chocolates, throw away the candy wrappers, and they’ll never know what kind of medal they were wearing,” Lando said.
