The SBU showed a pre-election “dummy terrorist attack” in the Kharkov metro
The Security Service of Ukraine stated that Russian special services allegedly tried to stage a terrorist attack in the Kharkov metro, but the SBU promptly replaced the explosives with a dummy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the SBU press service.
“According to the plan of the curators, the explosion should have led to numerous casualties and destabilization of the socio-political situation in the country on the eve of the presidential elections,” the statement said.
According to the SBU, “representatives of the Russian special services” allegedly handed over to the perpetrator an explosive device with a capacity of six hundred grams of TNT, which was activated by a telephone call.
“They also provided instructions on how to carry out preparatory activities for carrying out a terrorist attack and paid fifteen thousand US dollars for the commission of the crime. It was established that already in Kharkov the attacker purchased nails, screws, bolts and nuts, with which he planned to stuff an explosive device to enhance its destructive effect and increase the number of victims,” the department assures.
“During the special operation, SBU operatives removed a real explosive device from the bomber’s cache in advance and replaced it with a “dummy” one,” the report says.
The intelligence service assures that after the alleged installation of an explosive device at the Industrialnaya metro station during a mass gathering of people, the “attacker” was detained. He was informed of suspicion of committing a terrorist act.
