About it the SBU said in a statement.
“Employees of the counterintelligence units for the protection of state interests in the field of information security of the SBU stopped the activities of 388 attackers involved in the administration and moderation of anti-Ukrainian resources on the Internet. Based on the intelligence service’s materials, 43 criminal proceedings have been registered against agitators who, mainly on Russian social networks, distributed materials calling for the overthrow of the constitutional order and state power, carrying out mass riots and other anti-Ukrainian propaganda,” the report says.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, the courts have accepted 36 guilty verdicts against the owners and administrators of so-called “anti-Ukrainian” communities and pages on social networks, in particular “VKontakte” and “Odnoklassniki”. Their actions are qualified under Art. 109 (violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order), art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine), Art. 258-3 (creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In 2017, SBU officers stopped the use of 24 sites in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet, through which, according to the intelligence service, “coordination of terrorist and other illegal activities” took place.
“The functioning of a network of ten information sites, which was created by Russian intelligence services to disseminate false messages of a manipulative nature as part of a hybrid information aggression against Ukraine, has also been stopped. The resources included in the network were registered using passports of Ukrainian workers stolen on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the report notes.
