According to preliminary data, the station was damaged during the shelling, which began at approximately 18.30, Informator reports.

“Transformer 11 is on fire. The Ukrainian Armed Forces forces located in Shchastya are on alert. The power was partially lost in many areas of Severodonetsk and Rubezhnoye. Electricity problems were also reported in Alchevsk, Perevalsk and Belokurakino. There is no electricity in half of the districts of Lisichansk (Proletary, area of ​​the RTI plant),” the message says.

There were also problems with mobile communications. According to power engineers, the power supply was cut off from the Lugansk Thermal Power Plant because an auxiliary transformer there caught fire.

As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian security forces turned the Lugansk thermal power plant into a fortified area.
