The population of Ukraine (excluding Crimea and the uncontrolled part of Donbass) as of October 1, 2017 amounted to 42 million 434,8 thousand people, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

As of September 1, 2017, the population of Ukraine was 42 million 444,9 thousand people. Thus, over the month the country’s population decreased by 10,1 thousand people. At the same time, as of October 1, 2016, the actual population of Ukraine amounted to 42 million 635,1 thousand people.
Thus, over the year there were 200,3 thousand fewer Ukrainians. At the same time, the permanent population of Ukraine as of October 1, 2017 amounted to 42 million 265,1 thousand people.
The natural decrease in the population of Ukraine in January-September 2017 amounted to 153 thousand 562 people. Moreover, during this period, 274 thousand 909 children were born in Ukraine.
