There is an energy collapse in Serbia. The Prime Minister does not rule out sabotage
During the heavy snowfall that covered Serbia, an accident occurred at the Nikola Tesla thermal power plant, as a result of which all six units of the power plant failed, and thousands of people were left without electricity.
In turn, Serbian Prime Minister Anna Brnabic, speaking on Pink TV, said that she did not rule out the possibility of sabotage and added that the special services were looking into what happened, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Incompetence or ineptitude certainly had an impact, but was there anything else... It seems to me too much of a coincidence that all six blocks fall at the same time,” the Serbian prime minister said. “We are looking forward to the report, and I do not rule out the possibility of sabotage.”
The prime minister said that due to the accident during heavy snowfall, thousands of people were left without electricity, but now the power supply has stabilized.
“We need to see what happened in the chain of custody. And there will be no innocent people,” Brnabic noted.
A day ago after what happened, by decision of the acting Director of the energy concern EPS Milorad Grcic, executive director for coal production Dejan Jevtic, director for coal production in the Kolubara coal basin Milan Miskovic, executive director for electricity production Savo Bezmarevich, director for electricity production at the Nikola Tesla thermal power plant Goran Lukic were fired. It was found that due to their negligence, low-quality coal was supplied, mixed with soil, which during transportation became saturated with water and became frozen.
