Europe's first ultra-modern Chinese laboratories for detecting COVID-19 will appear in Serbia
The laboratory equipment that China will donate to Serbia will be delivered to the Balkans in the coming days, which will allow up to 3 thousand tests per day.
Serbian media reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Serbia’s capacity to conduct tests to detect coronavirus will increase significantly with the advent of these two laboratories, which will be located in Belgrade and Nis,” said Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Chen Bo. “We expect the equipment for them to arrive in the coming days.” The Chinese Embassy, for its part, will make every effort to build these laboratories as soon as possible.”
The construction of the laboratories was partially financed by the Chinese company Zi Jin, which is one of Serbia’s strategic partners, in particular, in 2018, purchasing and investing 350 million in the Serbian Bor mining and metallurgical copper complex.
At the same time, the equipment, technology and design of the laboratories were developed by the Chinese state research institute BGI Group from Beijing.
“This is another brick in our common house of steel (Serbian-Chinese - ed.) friendship,” Serbian Prime Minister Anna Brnabic commented on the event. – I look forward to the day when we can welcome the leader of the People's Republic of China to our Serbian soil and thank him... Many thanks to the people of China and the Chinese leadership led by President Xi for everything they have done for Serbia during its difficult times.”
