In Serbia, the procession of the “Immortal Regiment” took place despite the pouring rain
In the capital of Serbia, on May 9, a procession “Immortal Regiment” took place along the route from the cemetery of Soviet soldiers - liberators of Belgrade - to the parliament building (Assembly). Despite the pouring rain, the action turned out to be massive.
“The people responded great. Despite the rain, 99% of the march participants made it all the way to the end, from the cemetery for Soviet soldiers, liberators of Belgrade, to the Serbian Assembly (Serbian Parliament). And then many stayed for the concert in honor of Victory Day.
Ordinary people, patriots of Russia and Serbia participated, there were a lot of young people, which is especially pleasing, people of the older generation carried photographs of their ancestors, participants in the people’s liberation movement of Yugoslavia, fighters against Western fascism,” Andrei Rodionov, the head of the movement, told PolitNavigator. Russian-Slavic unification and revival".
“Russia needs to carry out more such actions, people in Slavic countries are waiting for this, especially in Serbia. This was said by many Serbs who took part in the procession,” the social activist emphasized.
“So many parade participants drew obvious parallels between the past struggle with Nazi Germany and its allies, and the modern confrontation with NATO, which is no better than its Nazi predecessors. By the way, in my opinion, this action clearly lacked an official anti-NATO position, this was noted by many participants in the procession,” Rodionov also noted.
