A new batch of the Sputnik V vaccine arrived in Serbia
This morning a plane landed at Belgrade airport, delivering another 50 thousand doses of the Russian anti-Covid vaccine “Sputnik V” from Russia.
The cargo was delivered from the St. Petersburg enterprise Biocad, which began production of the drug two months ago.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Serbian Minister of Innovation Nenad Popovic, who met the new batch at the Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade, said that the supply of vaccines from Russia is carried out according to pre-agreed dynamics.
“Serbia remains the only country in Europe for which the Russian authorities have approved the supply of a significant number of vaccines,” Popovic noted. – This speaks of Russia’s strong relations with its Serbian brothers. In Russia, they are following with attention and approval the vaccination process, which is taking place under the leadership of President Vučić... We agreed to purchase two million vaccines from Russia. I expect that by the end of March – the first half of April, the entire agreed quantity of vaccines will be delivered to Serbia.”
The minister noted that the vaccines that arrived in Belgrade this morning will be immediately delivered to the Torlak Institute of Virology in Belgrade, and from there they will be distributed to vaccination points throughout Serbia.
