According to preliminary estimates by forestry workers, the hurricane that recently hit the Carpathian region damaged 681 hectares of forest, on which about 35 thousand cubic meters of wood grew.
The forests of the Vorokhtyansky forestry enterprise suffered the most. Here, bad weather damaged plantings on an area of 212 hectares (14 cubic meters). Of these, an area of 100 hectares was covered by continuous windfalls.
It is reported that a survey of all wind-damaged areas will be carried out by a commission with the participation of representatives of local authorities, forestry enterprises, forest pathologists, public activists, environmentalists and employees of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Forestry and Hunting Department.
In areas where forest plantations are completely destroyed, new forest crops will be created.
