A video of a Ukrainian train catching fire at full speed has leaked online.
On the Brailov-Zhmerynka stretch in the Vinnytsia region, one of the cars of the Kazatin-Zhmerynka electric train caught fire, passengers were immediately evacuated, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The State Emergency Service of the region reported this today.
Emergency workers received a report of the fire at 9.42. It is noted that near the village of Tartak, Zhmerinsky district, the tail car of the electric train caught fire.
According to the State Emergency Service, there were no passengers inside the carriage.
“The fire was localized at 10:30 and extinguished at 10:43,” the department reported.
Ukrzaliznytsia added that the drivers quickly discovered the fire, notified passengers and carried out an evacuation.
“The carriage where the fire occurred was immediately uncoupled. No one was injured as a result of the incident,” the UZ reported.
After the fire was extinguished, the train continued moving and arrived at the Zhmerinka station along with the passengers.
As a result of the incident, five passenger trains and one commuter train were delayed. The delay time is a little over an hour.
Now experts are establishing the cause of the fire. Ukrzaliznytsia began an internal investigation.
