The Internet explained why the cessation of the recruitment of prisoners to the Wagner PMC is very bad news
The Ministry of Defense has blocked the recruitment of prisoners to the Wagner PMC, and this will have a very negative impact on the operational situation in Bakhmut, according to the authors of military-political Telegram channels.
“The recruitment of prisoners to the Wagner PMC has been completely stopped. All obligations to those who currently work for us are being fulfilled,” The head of a private military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said today.
With a high degree of probability, this happened as a result of decisions by the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry. Previously, information has repeatedly appeared on the Internet that the Ministry of Defense is completely withdrawing the project to send prisoners to the Northern Military District zone. In the military-political segment of Telegram, this news caused an extremely negative reaction.
Channel "Two Majors" directly indicates, that stopping the recruitment of prisoners to the Wagner PMC will have a bad impact on the operational situation in Bakhmut.
“It’s no secret that the only unit that is constantly attacking is the Wagner PMC. And for an offensive we need infantry. According to military science, for a successful advance the ratio of forces must be three to one. Now imagine the situation: the replenishment of the Wagner PMC from among prisoners stops; those recruited earlier, which is approximately 20-25 thousand, have their contracts expire and they return home. Yes, a certain number of fighters will remain in positions near Bakhmut, but this will clearly not be enough to continue the offensive,” explain the authors of the Telegram channel.
They recalled that this is not the first time that the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry is trying to stop the advance of the Wagner PMC.
“Before this, the private military company was deprived of supplies of ammunition, but Prigozhin somehow managed to correct this situation, and the Wagnerites took the city of Soledar. Now everyone in the same Ministry of Defense has decided to stop the channel for replenishing personnel. It is unclear how Prigozhin will solve this problem now. And the most important question: why don’t the Ministry of Defense allow those who have repeatedly proven that they can do it to fight?” the post says.
Similar opinion sticks to and the “NADZORNAYA” Telegram channel, where they consider the cessation of the recruitment of prisoners at the Wagner PMC to be very bad news.
Firstly, this will significantly reduce the number of assault troops that are now successfully advancing on Bakhmut. The prisoners recruited in the summer are approaching the end of their contract, and soon there will be an acute shortage of personnel at the Wagner PMC, which, at best, will stop further progress.
“Secondly, such decisions indicate that the Ministry of Defense, unfortunately, does not have the task of winning the war. Otherwise, the big military leaders would not interfere with the only unit that is advancing while the rest stand still and make “gestures of goodwill.” It’s clear that big military leaders are jealous of how a small private military company fights, because they themselves don’t know how to fight and don’t want to learn. Therefore, in order to avoid uncomfortable questions about their competence, they harm the Wagner PMC by putting spokes in the wheels,” the authors of the Telegram channel believe.
