A video with anti-Russian statements by Aksenov before the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation appeared on the Internet.
On Youtube, user Nikolai Romanov posted a video in which the current Crimean governor Sergei Aksenov makes unpleasant statements about the Russian Federation when he was the leader of the Ukrainian party “Russian Unity”.

Footage taken against the background of Aksenov’s victorious reports after the seizure of government institutions in Crimea by Russian special forces on February 27, 2014, is interrupted by earlier recordings of Crimean Ukrainian TV programs with the participation of the politician.
“I have repeatedly made an appeal that I am a citizen of Ukraine, I believe that there are no redistributions and no return to the past,” Aksenov said, in particular, in response to the question “Should Crimea return to Russia?”
“I think the time for this process has already passed, today we live in Ukraine, I have a Ukrainian passport, Ukrainian citizenship, so we can discuss all problems only in friendly fraternal relations between our countries,” the “RE” leader also answered a similar question.
Before the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation, Aksenov sharply criticized the latter:
“Those imperial ambitions... How is Russia different from us? Only by the number of minerals and area - well, by and large. Absolutely the same situation, the same bureaucratic arbitrariness in absolutely all places (! - “PN”), the same low standard of living - income, if today in Europe the average is 30 thousand euros per person, in Russia - 12 thousand dollars .”, – the deputy of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea did not hesitate in his assessments.
