In his opinion, Ukrainian suppliers, taking into account the political conflict, may well impose appropriate sanctions.
“The debt arose due to the fact that Gorvodokanal did not pay for the consumed energy. Today, the water utility's debt is 49 million hryvnia. At the same time, as of January 1, the water utility had a debt of 38 million. The administration is dealing with this issue, but so far there is no movement: it should have been resolved last week by taking out a loan to pay the debt,” said Viktor Shulzhenko.
And about. Sevastopol Governor Sergei Menyailo promised to look into it.
“The energy security of strategically important facilities has already been ensured. Autonomous diesel generators are connected. Of course, we won’t be able to provide the entire city with electricity this way, but vital facilities, in case of a critical situation, will be transferred to backup power sources,” the official said.
Menyailo also added that there is no actual threat of disconnecting residential buildings from power supply.
“Most likely, some restrictions may be introduced, but nothing more,” he said.
According to the head of the city, work is currently underway on a program under which electricity will be supplied by the Russian Federation.
“The first consultations have already been held. This is a temporary issue, and the issue can be resolved,” Menyailo assured.
