This incident caused a surge of negative discussion on social networks. The townspeople condemned the actions of the authorities, believing that sick old people were kicked out without discharge or warning.
“There is no crime there. But the execution of the order can be done in different ways. Our camp “Tavrida” opens today. Weather conditions and field camp, plus the order of Rospotrebnadzor. “We are reserving places in medical institutions just in case,” Governor Sergei Menyailo explained at a briefing.
According to him, to prevent a dangerous sanitary-epidemic situation, it was necessary to create a reserve of 200 beds in hospitals.
“Of the 34 veterans who were lying there, most were subject to discharge. No veterans were expelled; those who needed inpatient treatment were transferred to other departments and other hospitals,” Menyailo said, promising to look into the situation.
“If someone is at fault on the part of the hospital or the medical department, they will be punished accordingly. If this is interpreted by someone in the media, it will be checked, and I will tell you the results of the check. If this is presented as some kind of action, then we will look into it in the courts,” concluded Menyailo.
