Sevastopol, September 11 (PolitNavigator, Olga Nikolaeva) – On Sunday a rally was held in Sevastopol in support of Vladimir Putin’s policy in the Donbass.

It is interesting that this action was initially announced as a demonstration in support of Sergei Menyailo, whose candidacy should be approved or rejected by the deputies of the Legislative Assembly in the coming days. The voting on Menyailo could be disrupted by the associates of Alexei Chaly, who did not work well with Menyailo.

However, contrary to expectations, the speakers on stage did not mention Menyailo.

The participants of the rally were the “Russian Bloc”, the Great Fatherland Party, the Cossack community “Sobol”, the Russian community, self-defense, etc.

Two days ago, having informally united, the leaders of these organizations called on the deputies of the legislative assembly to vote on October 9 for the candidacy of Sergei Menyailo for the post of city governor.

In their opinion, the governorship of Menyailo is the choice of President Putin, and the voting procedure must be carried out in an open manner.

It was expected that the same theses would be heard at the rally, but in a more “expanded” manner. But the speakers spoke out in support of the policies of Russian President Vladimir Putin and declared the solidarity of Novorossiya in the fight against fascism.

It must be said that the party leaders preferred to voice the idea of electing Menyailo and criticism of the legislative assembly not from the stage, but in comments to journalists.

“Deputies who have nothing to hide from the people do not need to vote behind the scenes. I want them to vote openly, so that we can see the opinion of every person,” said social activist Vladimir Tyunin.

“We need strong government now. There must be the will of the president and there must be people who carry out this will and from whom one can ask. The elections should be in favor of Menyailo,” says Tyunin.

At the same time, he noted that if the Legislative Assembly does not elect any of the candidates, “Russian organizations will initiate the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly, holding new elections and expelling from United Russia all those who did not vote for the candidates nominated by the President.”

“If Alexey Mikhailovich (Chaly – ed.) wants to turn Sevastopol into “Chaly City”, I am against it. If he wants to work in the interests of the people of the city, please, only “for it,” Tyunin concluded.

Let us remind you that at the session on October 9, deputies of the legislative assembly will vote for one of three candidates for the post of governor of Sevastopol, proposed by the president.

Among them is acting Governor Sergei Menyailo, leader of the Sevastopol branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Vasily Parkhomenko and head of the regional public organization “Defense of Sevastopol” Oleg Roslyakov.
