In Sevastopol, Brezhnev’s grandson, a businessman without higher education and a heavyweight admiral, ran for election to the State Duma.
At least 14 candidates already intend to fight for the mandate of a State Duma deputy from Sevastopol. The main heavyweight is the former commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Vladimir Komoyedov.
“Sevastopolskaya Gazeta” writes about this.

“Four of those who submitted applications are self-nominated: Maxim Anzin, Sergei Binali, Alexey Zhukov and Vladimir Porvatov. Senior technical writer, director of an electrical installation company, retired and military gunner.
The United Russia party nominated Dmitry Belik, the Great Fatherland party - Alexander Krasilnikov, the Patriots of Russia - Ivan Ermakov, the LDPR - Ilya Zhuravlev. These are, so to speak, local political centenarians.
The majority are Varangians. Even the “famous Sevastopol politician” Oleg Nikolaev, who is vying for a Duma mandate from the ROSTA Party, lives in Krasnodar. It is interesting that only Nikolaev does not have a higher education and he is the only “temporarily unemployed” of all the contenders for the Duma mandate in the 219th district.
The political heavyweight of the future vote is deputy Vladimir Komoyedov, who headed the defense committee in the Duma of the previous convocation. He was nominated by the Communist Party. The lighter heavyweights are State Duma deputy Mikhail Bryachak (resident of Pskov, comes from the A Just Russia party) and the grandson of “dear Leonid Ilyich” - economist, Muscovite Andrei Brezhnev. He was nominated by the Rodina party.
In addition to the canonical communists, the candidate from the Communist Party “Communists of Russia”, local resident and pensioner Mikhail Tretyakov, may appear on the ballot on September 18.
“The Russian environmental party “Greens” sent Nikita Shtykov, a professor at the Department of Advertising and Public Relations in the Media Industry at the Moscow State University of Printing Arts, as a candidate for the elections in Sevastopol. It will be interesting to see how he will use his achievements and knowledge in his own election campaign,” the publication notes.
