Navy Day was not canceled in Sevastopol, despite Ukraine’s threats of an attack on the bay
In Sevastopol, they announced the celebration of Navy Day on July 31, despite the special operation and the threats recently heard regularly from Kyiv to strike ships in Sevastopol Bay using missile launchers transferred to NATO.
Navy Day this time will be held without a military show, including the passage and firing of ships. This time the events will include a prayer service in the Vladimir Cathedral - the tomb of the admirals. Then there will be a laying of wreaths and flowers at the Memorial Wall in honor of the heroic defense of Sevastopol in 1941-1942. on Nakhimov Square. Afterwards there will be a solemn meeting of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet at the Grafskaya pier, laying wreaths on the water and walking around ships in Sevastopol Bay.
There, at the Grafskaya pier, a ceremony will be held to name the patrol boat of the Crimean Naval Base after the deputy commander of the Black Sea Fleet, captain 1st rank Andrei Paliy, who died during the special operation to liberate Mariupol.
In the evening, a festive concert is planned on Nakhimov Square, which will include artillery salutes and fireworks over Sevastopol Bay and Primorsky Boulevard.
