In Sevastopol they don’t know what to do with the spontaneous landfills at Cape Fiolent
Sevastopol, February 22 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) - A raid by control authorities on gardening partnerships and dacha-building cooperatives in the Gagarinsky district, located on Cape Fiolent, exposed the unsightly picture that is happening there. In order not to pay for garbage removal, gardeners and summer residents preferred spontaneous landfills, from which mountains of garbage grew.

The head of the Department for Control of Municipal Economy of the Government of Sevastopol, Vladimir Sokolov, stated this to the Sevastopol Information Channel.
“During the inspection of these territories, a critical unsanitary condition was revealed in terms of unauthorized placement of municipal solid waste (MSW) on the territory of these gardening partnerships. This situation is mainly due to the lack of concluded agreements for the collection and removal of waste - precisely this waste from gardening associations - and the lack of temporary storage places, i.e. this is the lack of specific sites,” Sokolov said.
“The department together with the administration of the Gagarinsky district as of February 27, 2015. initiated a meeting to review the current situation. So we will consider this issue and think about what to do next. I think that we will notify residents and inform them about our further activities,” the official explained.
