A surgeon who sold sick leave was convicted in Sevastopol
Simferopol, March 19 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The Balaklava District Court of Sevastopol issued a verdict against a surgeon at the Sevastopol City Hospital No. 9 clinic who was caught taking a bribe.

The court found that the defendant, being an official of a local clinic, received a bribe in the amount of 3300 rubles from citizens for processing and issuing certificates of temporary disability in the absence of legal grounds. For each day of sick leave, the doctor set a “tariff” of 300 rubles.
The court, agreeing with the position of the state prosecution, found the defendant guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code (receiving a bribe by an official for illegal actions).
The doctor was sentenced to a fine in the amount of 100 thousand rubles with deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the performance of organizational, administrative and economic functions in state bodies, local governments, state and municipal institutions for a period of 1 year 6 months.
