A social assistance center has opened in Sevastopol for families of Donbass volunteers and vulnerable groups of the population
Sevastopol, March 25 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) - In one of the Sevastopol markets, through the efforts of a local entrepreneur, a social assistance point has been opened for special categories of citizens, where you can buy food at noticeably reduced prices. The point will work until other entrepreneurs reduce prices for their goods.

The organizer of the social assistance point is Dmitry Golikov, entrepreneur, head of the Chippolino retail chain. According to him, “the situation with regard to pricing policy in the city is simply unacceptable,” and therefore he decided to try to influence this situation from the inside by significantly lowering the prices of groceries and the necessary food package - sugar, cereals and vegetables. At the same time, social assistance is provided for pensioners, veterans, disabled people, large families and families of volunteers taking part in the military conflict in the South-East.
“We sell products at discounted prices to certain categories of people. In fact, factory prices, the necessary grocery package. People walk, and as you can see, without any advertising. Of course, they heard it, because prices here are noticeably lower. There was a meeting with the governor, and certain directions of action were determined. We have been dealing with food products for more than 10 years, so we simply have to help our city and our leadership,” the entrepreneur is confident.
In comparison with neighboring stalls, which offer a similar range of products, the prices are indeed lower. The difference ranges from 5 to 10 rubles. For example, the cost of a kilogram of potatoes at a social assistance point is 12,90 rubles, while throughout the market it is 20 rubles and more. The picture is similar for other food products. Moreover, according to Dmitry Golikov, “it is quite possible that prices will be reduced in the coming days.”
The reaction of buyers is beyond doubt that they are quite happy with this turn of events.
“Wonderful, how else can you treat this,” says the pensioner. “The cheaper, the better,” echoes another. “People here have a good attitude, the girl is so attentive, she trades carefully. The prices are, of course, reasonable. Found it so cheaply like nowhere else. You can see how long the queue is. So it’s not worth it in vain,” concludes the elderly man.
At the same time, neighboring traders, however, like everyone else in the market, according to the businessman, do not share the joy of buyers, however, “they will be forced to adapt and will not go anywhere.”
“In general, I would like this to become a starting point for bringing order to the pricing policy throughout the city. This is an experimental option for us for now. We will work out the entire scheme, and then distribute it to other areas of the city. This is a positive example, I think. There are not enough buyers in the markets, and the issue of unauthorized spontaneous trade is a very acute and complex issue. Because of those who stand in the gateways and sell who knows what, prices fluctuate and cannot be controlled. When this issue is resolved, real competition will appear in the market, which means that normal sellers will appear, followed by buyers. Traders will be forced to take documents, register their businesses and pay taxes. Plus, they will find themselves in an environment where people like them will be next to them and they will have nowhere to go. If you want to work, you won’t be able to stand in the gateway. Then everything will be at real prices. I think we will establish a pricing policy in the city, it will become reasonable,” explained Dmitry Golikov.
According to him, the social assistance point will not close until “until prices become normal and comfortable for people.” Only then, he says, “perhaps we will close this project.” The point is located at the Sevprivoz vegetable market on the left in the first row, 50 meters from the entrance, and will be open twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 4 pm.
