Sevastopol, July 31 (Navigator, Olga Nikolaeva) – Deputies of the Legislative Assembly at the session on Thursday voted in the first reading for the adoption of the law “On the status of children of the Great Patriotic War living in the city of Sevastopol, and measures of social support for citizens who have been assigned the status of children of the Great Patriotic War , living in the city of Sevastopol."
There are 34 thousand people living in Sevastopol who fall into this category. The bill provides for monthly payments of 500 rubles and emergency services in institutions. The bill stipulates that it comes into force on January 1, so that the government includes funds in the budget.

If the amount of payments is approved, it is planned to allocate 2015 million rubles from the city budget for these purposes in 204.
It was noted that in the Russian Federation the status of war children, which provides for a number of benefits, has not been adopted at the federal level. In 20 regions of Russia, similar laws have been approved at the local level.
The government of Sevastopol supported and gave a positive opinion to the law with a request not to approve the document in the second reading in order to conduct consultations with financial authorities.
