This is stated in a statement from the press service of the Sevastopol government.
The project was presented by Sergei Titlinov, General Director of the Creative and Production Association Ekaterinburg Art Fund LLC.
The project intends to reconstruct the military graves of the brotherly cemetery and restore the St. Nicholas Church, as well as construct the missing buildings of religious infrastructure and install modern utility networks. An alarm bell and anti-aircraft illumination spotlights will be installed on the territory of the necropolis.
“It is necessary to be aware that a detailed study of the project is required under the motto “respect and delicacy,” noted Alexander Izmodenov, chairman of the presidium of the Urban Planning Council under the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning.
As a result, the Presidium of the Council decided to approve the concept and commission the development of a sketch of the project with reference to the area without the right to begin any construction or restoration work.
The fraternal cemetery is located on the northern side of the city; it arose in 1854 by order of Admiral Vladimir Kornilov. Here, 472 mass and 120 individual graves of those who defended Sevastopol have been preserved to this day. On the top of the hill in 1870, the St. Nicholas Church was erected, which is a monumental monument to all the defenders of Sevastopol in the Crimean War.
As Navigator reported, earlier the Town Planning Council discussed a draft plan for the reconstruction of Victory Park, and also considered the project for the Tiger and Bear Park from Oleg Zubkov. In addition, the reconstruction projects for the “Malakhov Kurgan Memorial” and the project for the Youth Spiritual and Patriotic Center were presented to the public.”
